Anuradha: It is telling you that it cannot find the Teradata system. In order to connect across the network, it needs the IP address. The IP address can be obtained by the utilities in one of two ways: a DSN name or tdpid name referenced in the .logon statement: .logon <tdpid>/<userid>,<password> Since you have specified no hostname in your logon statement, it is most likely defaulting to dbc. Many people simply go to the HOSTS file and add one or more entries for Teradata. HOSTS format: Hope this helps, Michael Larkins
