Subj:   Script UNIX to disable users logons and kill active sessions

From:   Chambaz Hakim

Hi,

We are planning to develop an Unix script for disable users logons and kill active sesions every Friday pm just before the beginning of Mainframe loads to Teradata following the Teradata Backup (NETVAULT). This need helps us to avoid Locks on tables involved in the weekly Mainframe loads to Teradata and finally Teradata backups problems. Obviously,we will unable logons after the end of the Teradata Backups.

The first idea I get is to do it via CNSTERM 6 :

1- disable logons;

2- abort session*.* logoff; (except DBCMANAGER sessions may be ..)

Does someone experiment this ? Any issues, tips, comments are welcome.

Thanks

Hakim
