Depending upon what you are wanting to do, you also might want to consider the Teradata OLE DB Access Module. Use version 2.2.1.1 of this product and specify the "UTF8" session character set. Then launch FastExport. The Teradata RDBMS will convert the Kanji1 characters to UTF8. FastExport will pass the UTF8 strings to the OLE DB access module which will convert them to UTF-16 prior to passing them to the destination OLE DB provider (which would write the data to any of a variety of places (i.e. Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, Sybase, Access, Excel, text file, etc.), depending upon the provider that you chose). This option is only available if you have a Windows system available. -shawn :-)
