Hello all,

I always want to know, before messing with anything in the dbscontrol, what the impact is. We're considering setting EnableStepText to true, in order to see the actual Explain texts in PMON (we're on v2r4.1.3, using TTU 7.0). Anyway, I looked through the docs to see if there was a cost or any hazards, looked through the knowledge suppository, etc. and found nothing. I saw something on how it depended on another setting, DontSaveRequest being set to 0, but that's not even in the dbscontrol records. It's probably a no-brainer, but I thought I'd better check, given the little amount of data I've found about it's impact. I mean, why not just show the stupid text in PMON if it doesn't cost anything, doesn't affect anything?
