If you have SQL Assistant 6.2 you can use the last text box on the AnswerSet tab of the option screen to tell the application to treat byte
columns greater than a specified size as BLOBs. (By default it will handle all Byte columns larger than 30 bytes in this way.)
When it treats a byte column as a blob it writes a file for each row/column. The data will be an exact binary image of what was in the column.
You can then use an editor like notepad to view the file. (This will only really be useful if the byte column actually contains a mixture of text
and 'encoded' data. I don't remember what it does contain however.)
