I am looking to load TAB delimited data via Fastload. I know that I can use SET RECORD VARTEXT "c" to set the delimiter, but I cannot identify what value to use for TAB.

According to the TTU7.1 Fastload (v07.05.02) manual it is possible: "No control character other than a TAB character can be used as a delimiter" but helpfully it does not give you the syntax. I have searched the forum archives for any previous discussions on this subject and the suggestions made ( placement of the dot or the use of semi-colon) make no difference.

I have tried the following syntax:

.set record vartext "tab"
set record vartext "tab";
.set record vartext "\t"
set record vartext "\t";

but all result in an invalid syntax error message.
