I think the issue many of us may have is that the 'canned' starter set of UDF's is being 'sold'...I think NCR would generate good will of a
value far exceeding any professional services sales related to Oracle/DB2 UDF set, throughout its customer base if this set of UDF's were made
available free of charge to existing customers...
It seems to me that a key opportunity to impress and amaze the existing NCR customer base was missed here...At the same time, I would think any
sales pitch to an Oracle/DB2 shop considering Teradata would be strengthened. I s suspect the availability of these UDF's are mentioned in the
pitch. That you have to 'pay' for them on top of buying Teradata must surely rub some the wrong way...
