Hi TDATA-L, The latest version of the Teradata OLE DB Access Module supports load and exports of Unicode string data. This is version 2.2.1.1 and is available from the Teradata Solutions Global Support Center patch server. During a load, strings are retrieved by the OLE DB access module from the OLE DB provider that was chosen in the "Select a source" drop-down list box using the DBTYPE_WSTR (UTF-16) data type. The strings are converted to the Teradata session character set (UTF8) before being passed to the load utility (i.e. FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPump,or BTEQ). During an export, strings are received by the OLE DB access module from the export utility (i.e. FastExport or BTEQ) encoded according to the Teradata session character set (UTF8). The strings are converted by the OLE DB access module and passed to the OLE DB provider that was chosen in the "Select a destination" drop-down list box using the DBTYPE_WSTR (UTF-16) data type. Hope this helps! -shawn :-)
