Subj:   Access and Decimal(15,5)

From:   Lerner, Dirk

Hi all,

for some tests we want to use Access as GUI for some tables. But we have problems with columns which are defined as decimal(15,5)

Table:

create table test
(x integer,
y decimal(15,5))

Scenario #1:
---------------------
Teradata V2R4
Access: MS Access 2000 SR3
ODBC: Teradata 3.00.01.03

I get from Access the error-msg: The field for decimal is too short and therefor no result.

Scenario #1:
---------------------
Teradata V2R5 Demo
Access: MS Access 2000 SR1
ODBC: Teradata 3.02.00.02

I receive the decimal values, but without any decimal point: 1234567 instead of 1234.567

So the data is useless...

Does anyone have a glue how to solve this problem?

Regards,

Dirk
