Several customers have asked about DBQL query logging and a metric for understanding overhead. This information is highly summarized for the purpose of giving a quick review of overhead consumed by BEGIN QUERY LOGGING. The answer to the questions requires an understanding of the basic difference between all-AMP operations and single/few AMP operations. For all-AMP operations, even short ones, response time tests were not able to pick up any overhead any level of query logging enabled, including "all". For single/few AMP operations one should expect to use summary logging as response time increases by a number close to 6% and instruction path length doubles. I hope this answer reaches all that have asked. Jim LeBlanc
