Since Queryman is a VB application that uses ODBC your app should be able to execute and return 200 rows in about 20 seconds. (Based on the figures given. These must be big rows to take 33 seconds to return 400 rows ... unless you are running over a dial up connection.) Queryman does not do anything special to boost performance. It also uses the default ODBC buffer size unless you change it in the Data Source options. Queryman however uses the ODBC API itself - it does not use ADO. I have never tried usuing ADO so I dont know what problems might exist with it. I have used RDO however, and that does not seem to be noticably slower than the API. OLE DB may be a better fit with ADO since they have more similar structures. Mike Dempsey
