We are in the process of migrating Teradata from our current Windows set up to Unix.
We use Netbackup as our backup tool which backup to tapes media. So we have to backup to a tape from the Windows box, reconfigure our EMC for Unix and then restore to the new Unix EMC drives.
Just to have an alternative way of backing up the database we are planning to take the backups on a disk which will be connected to the Teradata Windows box and configure Veritas to use it as a backup media.
My question is that is it possible to configure Netbackup for Teradata to backup to a disk drive instead of a tape media. Is there a documentation pertaining to Teradata about it ?
What are the caveats in doing the migration this way...??
Thanks in advance...!!!
