Subj:   Re: What is the difference between Hash Ordered NUSI and an HASH Index ?

From:   Sanjaya Nagabhushan

Hash Indexes have ROWID included in them always by default. We do not have an option to prevent inclusion of ROWID in a Hash Index. In case we explicitly specify ROWID in a Hash Index definition, TD ignores the redundancy as it would have already incorporated ROWID in the definition.

This feature of Hash Index to implicitly include ROWID is what distinguishes it from a single table Join Index.

But ROWID need to be explicitly specified for inclusion in case of a Join Index.
