  This may be crazy, but is it possible to run and maintain a Teradata DBwithout using any of the Teradata load utilities (fastload, mload, fastexp, tpump, bteq).  



Run, w/o the utilities, why Yes! (For those asking Why?, because we can!) (For those asking How?, Perl!)

Maintain, w/o the utilities, hmmm, I would think No. I imagine there are several functions performed by tools like Ferret, Teradata Manager, etc. that can not (?) be done outside these tools. The example I'm thinking of is controlling disk space...
