The cost of licensing is worth it. The load utilities created by Teradata are specifically designed to take advantage of Teradata
Parallelism. I believe that this would be something that would be costly to implement yourself. If you are going to pay for the Teradata
equipment and database, you might as well pay for the powerful tools which comes with it. I cannot imagine loading large amounts of data
without the Multiload utility.
