Subj:   Re: Expiring LogonID Passwords

From:   David Wellman

Tony,

The biggest issue that I've seen at sites is that under V2r4 and earlier, the password rules applied to all users. You couldn't have some users (e.g. batch userid's) with non-expiring passwords whilst end-users (for instance) had expiring passwords. This changes with v2r5 where you can set these password rules at the profile level.

Another issue that I've seen is user CRASHDUMPS. This logs on automatically to load dumps from unix to the crashdumps database. Password expiration applies to this user as well. There are ways of getting around the problem - but I can't remember what they are right now !

Password expiration applies to DBC as well.

Dave
