Hi, I just found that I can create user/database/table names with special characters by wrapping the names in double-quotes. (that only took 11 years to discover) create user "d-d+e(^)" as perm=10000,password= Neat, but has anyone gone down this path and run into problems in scripting, or odbc, or you name it? Bteq and queryman do not require quoting the d-d username to logon, for example, BUT I do have to quote database and tablenames in queries. And I'll be checking other things. I have a gut feeling this should be avoided at all cost. Thanks, Mike
