<-- Anonymously Posted: Tuesday, June 17, 2003 15:22 --> Hello, I'm fairly new to Teradata and I'm trying to make sense of the EXPLAIN output. What does the following step do exactly? I have been trying to find where the EXPLAIN statements themselves are explained but I have had no such luck.
I have seen this say "read" as well. Also, some SQL explanations don't have this global deadlock prevention step -- when and where is it needed? Is there a place in the manuals that explains all of the various EXPLAIN statements? I'm very tired of the word "explain" now. :-) Thanks.
