Subj:   TimeStamp and Coalesce in V2R5

Hello,

I am trying to use COALESCE on a timestamp column, but keep encountering the following error message.

3800: Datatype Mismatch in THEN/ELSE expression.

I created a table; definition below

CREATE TABLE T (I TIMESTAMP(6))PRIMARY INDEX ( I );

Issuing a SELECT statement as below gives me the error 3800.

SELECT (COALESCE(I,CURRENT_TIMESTAMP(6))) FROM T

I modified the precision on the CREATE TABLE and SELECT statement and it still failed. When I apply the COALESCE function on a DATE column it works fine. Looked at the manuals, did not see any exceptions to the COALESCE statements. Has anyone encountered this problem in V2R5? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

-Thanks
