Thinking of Dr. Codd and his contributions, I recall, circa 1982, attending a presentation by IBM marketing folks regarding a new IBM database language called SEQUEL (Structured English Query Language), and a mention of a new IBM DBMS - SQL/DS...I'm sure he was there in spirit.
