Subj:   Re: Expected lifespan of MPRAS?

From:   Adriano Ferreira

Let me understand what you have said and take the opportunity to make myself wiser. I started a little thread about installing Perl 5.6.1 in Unix System V Release 4.0 (or better NCR MP-RAS SVR4 UNIX System). Then your message lets me know MPRAS is old. What exactly has replaced it? How obsolete is our company installation with this software version? Are modern installations much far ahead MP-RAS SRV4? What are we really missing?

Here in the company where I work, the datawarehouse project had come to a nearly halt or (to say it gently) severe slow down. Since 2000, the hardware and software have grown older without upgrades and no support contract. We are trying to revive it. But I am completely new to the DW business and would appreciate information about the current status of things.

Sincerely,

Adriano.
