As with all tuning there is not really a rule of thumb for the number of sessions. One needs to evaluate what the current bottleneck is in respect to archive speed. Once the bottleneck has been identified you can start working on a resolution. Sad news is of course, that once the bottleneck has been identified and removed, the next one will popup, but this is just a fact of life. If you are not willing to spend too much time on this, you can probably consult with TDCS Operational Services; they should be able to determine if your BAR solution is running at an optimal speed given the circumstances. Regarding the tech alert on the number of sessions: The problem did only occur on these cases where the number of sessions was exceeding the number of amps, a session number lower than the number of amps did not cause any problems.
