What version of Teradata are you on? I had a similar problem in the past, some big sp's worked on 4.0.0, wouldn't work on 4.0.x, and
they started working again on 4.1.3 (after we had rewritten everything to run via shell scripts). BTW, ran better via shell scripts. It
looked like TD didn't release / recycle temp resources during the sp, spool just kept growing.
