We are transferring data from Teradata onto a network attached UNIX server using Fast Export. The data file is then read into SAS.
Our SAS user is exceptionally keen to know what the maximum through-put will be from the Fast Export.
We have run a multitude of tests to prove what through-put we can achieve but we need to know is this 80% of the maximum achievable?
Does anyone know how this can be calculated - do you need to take into account the row length, the number of nodes, the number of
sessions logged on, number of rows, perm space of table transferring,....? Also, can anyone share their own benchmarking/performance
testing or real life figures.
