Collecting stat on small table very helpful why?

when Teradata join one small table with very big, The optimizer copy one of the table on all Amps. By collecting statistics on small tables Teradata server now which table to copy. So Teradata pick small table.

it is not necessary you only collect statistics on small tables. you can collect statistics all indexes Primary plus secondary after every 10% data change in tables
