Subj:   Re: Can it be any faster

From:   Matthew Winter

Hi,

Based on the FastLoad log file

**** 15:02:08 Number of recs/msg: 1367

A single Message is 64K in size.
Record Size = 65536 / 1367
            = 47 bytes

**** 15:02:08 Starting to send to RDBMS with record 1
**** 15:03:22 Sending row 5000000

Time to load 5,000,000 rows = 74 seconds

Throughput = 67,568 rows per second
            = 50 messages per second
            = 3,200 kilobytes per second
            = 3.125 MB per second

We saw an average throughput of 9.375 MB per second for performing FastLoads to a single node with 10 AMP's, 10 Sessions from an MVS client, via a direct ESCON channel.

Have you checked the throughput for other FastLoad jobs for comparison?

Regards
