Subj:   Trusted status and login from networked unix host

From:   Pete Hill

We want to implement data loads from Solaris for sensitive data and have to ensure security is tightly managed (Teradata itself will remain on NCR).

It appears the status of networked hosts is significantly different to MVS/Escon from Teradatas view and our NCR account people have talked of LogicalHostids, Trusted Status and use of a Login Exit in a confusing way.

Does anyone a) have a view of how trusted login works in a multiple host networked Unix/Solaris environment and/or b) have advice or practical example in using the CLIUSRLGNEXT logo exit (we would like to eventually link this to external LDAP authentication).

thanks
