Hi Bob Thanks for your feedback and just to comment on that.
First of all, good point about comparing an index with a MOLAP structure. I agree that these two things can be seen as related. I also agree that in time MOLAP tools, might be suited for Tactical/operational analysis, when the MOLAP software vendors are ready to cover this part of business intelligence with their cube technology, and not just add-on reporting tools (e.g. Cognos Impromptu). Until then I think that you should consider your choice of end-user tools. Just because you have a tool it doesn't necessary fulfill all of your business needs. I do know however, that this might be hard for some customers to understand. Cheers, Morten Wiingaard
