You might want to check with NCR to see if there is an access module or patch which will allow you open/read files larger than 2Gb in
size on your host environment. We happen to run most of the NCR utilities under AIX and a few months back became aware of just such a patch
for AIX environments which has greatly reduced our need to split files because of this type of limit...
On a related note, one thing you may not be aware of is that loading large files in multiple pieces, depending on how you are actually
doing this, can have the effect of lessening working space requirements compared with loading larger single files in one pass. This may
mean you may need to increase the percentage of unused space in your target database(s) over what you maintain today if you start loading
larger files in one pass. Just something to watch out for...
