Thanks to everybody who replied on this subject. I will probably write an INMOD to take care of this.

I still think the whole situation is unnecessary. The manual explicitly states that up to 80 pairs of hex digits are allowed, and yet you can't continue from one line to the next! The MVS guys should know that FastLoad scripts are often going to be instream in the JCL, and there's a limit of 80 bytes, and the last 8 bytes are usually ignored, etc. -- just like Assembler source code or SyncSort. Ugh.
