Teradata does not automatically parse a file or image and break it into many pieces. This must be done outside the RDBMS. You
adding data to the beginning and end does not help Teradata at all. My last job we were taking large files that contained images and
breaking the files into smaller pieces and putting the smaller pieces in rows with an set of ID's to help define what was in the image. If
you have any questions about how we did this or if you are unsure of what I am trying to describe, I would be more than happy to talk about
it with you.
