I'm willing to bet you've just experienced a regression in the optimizer. This is the one area where it is fairly common (based on our
experience) to experience some type of slowdown on a job. Luckily, this usually affects only one or two jobs, but it is still a PITA. Make
sure you collect statistics on all table after each upgrade since there is a real good chance there were optimizer code changes made.
