 Dave, Instead of using bteq, recommend looking into fastexport. I played bteq and fastexport against each other on AIX a couple of years ago. Fastexport is much faster. I have had 1,5 - 2 GB output files. I usually break them up into those size chunks because of limits in volume disk space and the old 2 GB limit, which I understand is no longer a restriction. I use these two simpleminded scripts to export data. I have corresponding ones for loading the data into a machine.
