Thanks for the positive feedback. I would caution that figures noted in your "observations" are highly workload dependent. You could reach entirely different conclusions depending on which of our production systems you monitored, for example. I'd also like to comment on a few of your "unofficial" points because, as you note, there seems to be a general lack of information & understanding on this topic.
