What teraminer version are you running? It seems you might have a very old one as the latest one is ODBC based. You should get your NCR representative to help you out. there should be an setup/options area where you pick the target Teradata machine and put the dbc or whatever hostname entry in for it. The Host entry needs to be something like this: 123.23.44.56 dbccop1 where the IP address is the address of the Teradata system, if you have more than one entry then use additional entries xxx.ccc.yyy.sss dbccop2 etc.... for as many IP addresses that you have then you should be able to use .logon dbc/user,pass; or .logon /user/pass; Another thought, is the Teradata system accessed via a DNS? as bteq cannot double resolve the connection via the host file then on to the DNS for an IP address or have in the host file xxx.yyy.eee.ttt hostname.fully.qualifiedcop1 again where the xxx.... is the actual IP address of the Teradata system Cheers John Street
