Error 224 indicates the hostname could not be resolved. Note that the "hostname" is the "dbcname" with "cop1" appended. If your BTEQ logon statement looks like: .logon mydbc/myuser,thepasswd then the hosts file or DNS needs an entry for mydbccop1. If your logon statement defaults the dbcname: .logon myuser,thepasswd then the entry should be for dbccop1. If you have multiple IP addresses for your system, you can define cop2,
