| Because you need the exact value to be able to use the PI and you probably don't know the exact time up to the
second/millisecond. | |
And also because in some installations TIME fields were not being hashed properly: all values hashed to the same AMP. This has
been corrected in more recent releases. We do have a few tables that are hashed by timestamp(0), but they are used mostly for logging and
reporting, not for searches by PI.
