Subj:   Re: Teradata JDBC Sample Applet Problem

From:   McBride, Michael

The applet/JDBC sample saga continues...

I used the jar utility to extract the class files and corresponding sub-directories [ jar xf teradata.jar ]

Then I can run the applet1.html and applet2.html successfully!!

When I look at the jar file using the list option [ jar -tf teradata.jar]

META-INF/
META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
com/ncr/
com/ncr/teradata/
com/ncr/teradata/ComSvcs.class
com/ncr/teradata/ComUtil.class
com/ncr/teradata/Const.class
com/ncr/teradata/ErrorMessage.class
com/ncr/teradata/ErrorMessage1.class
com/ncr/teradata/NativeExec.class
com/ncr/teradata/resource/
com/ncr/teradata/resource/Messages.class
com/ncr/teradata/resource/Messages_en_US.class
com/ncr/teradata/resource/Messages_ja_JP.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraCallableStatement.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraConnection.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraDatabaseMetaData.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraDriver.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraMap.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraPreparedStatement.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraResultSet.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraResultSetMetaData.class
com/ncr/teradata/TeraStatement.class

Notice that all the directory structures are using "/" (forward slash) as a separator (This is a Unix path convention) Windows uses "\" (back slash) as a directory separator...

I wonder if this is why the Applet won't run using the jar file, but will when I extract the class files from the jar file????

Does any body know the answer???
