Hi Dieter: Hope all is well with you. Your run failed because there was only one "-" in it. As stated in my original posting, it is for replacing strings with 2 "-" signs in them. So, if you were to change your row to some thing like "one-minus-", it would work correctly. If you have a mix of characters, then you need to add a WHERE clause that only attempts changing the ones with two of the characters in it. Hope this help clear up the confusion. Mike
