Subj:   Secondary indices and archive performance

Is it possible for secondary indices to impede performance of archives? We are using ARCMAIN on an MVS platform for our Teradata backups.

It was my belief that only the data gets copied, but seemingly it takes longer for tables with secondary indexes. We're seeing a degradation in performance for one particular large table at our site for which we recently created a few NUSIs, so I am suspicious. BTW, it is not a cluster archive.

Thanks.
