This package is a collection of the tools used by GSC analysts to aid in problem solving. The utilities are installed into /etc/gsc/bin
and a man page for each utility is installed into /etc/gsc/man/g1 and /usr/catman/GSCTOOLS/g1. GSC utilities included in package:
4300BIOS - UNIX BIOS viewer for the NCR 4300.
4380BIOS - UNIX BIOS viewer for the NCR 4380.
4400BIOS - UNIX BIOS viewer for the NCR 4400.
4400SEL - Display 4400 System Event Log.
4455SEL - Display 4455 System Event Log.
BIOS_eventlog - Display BIOS Event Log.
S50BIOS - UNIX BIOS viewer for the NCR S50.
S50SEL - Display S50 System Event Log.
S99autodumplook - runs the dump_look utility in the background to
store information about new memory dumps.
autoshare - Audits the status of AUTO SHARE for all tape devices on
a node.
backtracer - Display Teradata restart and back traces.
biosversion - Display version of BIOS used on a system.
boib302 - accepts odyfiltered input and breaks out the fields of the
OS 3.02 IO Bus data structure.
bomb302 - accepts odyfiltered input and breaks out the fields of the
OS 3.02 Mylex Bus data structure.
boms302 - accepts odyfiltered input and breaks out the fields of the
OS 3.02 Mylex SCB data structure.
bosb302 - accepts odyfiltered input and breaks out the fields of the
OS 3.02 SCSI Bus data structure.
bosd302 - accepts odyfiltered input and breaks out the fields of the
OS 3.02 SCSI Device data structure.
boso302 - accepts odyfiltered input and breaks out the fields of the
OS 3.02 SCSI Op data structure.
busdriver - Stress and audit engine for busstop stress test.
busstop - Interface control module for a safe stress test for a shared
SCSI subsystem which uses Quad-SCSI adapters.
calc - simple calculator.
cc_check.sh - Audits a Teradata system for known configuration
issues/problems.
chanconfig - display number and type of channel adapters installed
checkdump - display date of dump in UNIX dump slice[s].
ckvtoc - check Volume Table of Contents (vtoc).
cmdall - use remsh to send commands to all nodes.
cmic_scsiids - display the SCSI IDs set in CMIC.
cnsremote - utility to run checktable and scandisk remotely.
collectmemstats - collects memory statistics and stores it in a file.
cons-term-log - an AWS Console Terminal/Screen Logging utility.
copyscreen - broadcasts my terminal screen to other users on same system
cpall - use rcp to copy files to all nodes.
cpu - print current per-cpu activity information.
crashplus - installs the crashplus utilities.
dac_fw - display rdac device information.
devinfo - display SCSI device information.
diffall - use rcp to copy files from all nodes and diff them.
diskio - perform continuous, non-destructive read IOs from disk slices.
dump_look - check for new UNIX dump, collect dumplook info.
dumplook - Gather information about a dump.
extcmos - Extended CMOS viewer.
filedate - Display the UNIX timestamp of file.
filetime - Display the GMT timestamp of file.
findusers - identify processes using a file, filesystem, or device.
findlivemem.sh - Account for memory usage in a dump.
findmem.sh - Account for memory usage in a live system.
fsg_per - calculate the fsgcache % for a v2r200 system.
getinfo.sh - get a lot of system information.
getCylDocs - collect information for data corruption incidents.
getnodes.sh - runs on AWS & returns list of nodes from dws.config.
gettbl.pl - Returns DB and Table ID for a given LBA & Controller ID.
hexview - dumps a file in hex.
hung.sh - gets information about a system hang.
idtread - Unix display of the Internal Device Table.
iocheck - validate SCSI device information.
iorate - print aggregate current IO activity rate.
irqlist - print which CPUs are handling which IRQs.
kmem1 - script uses collectmemstats to gather memory statistics
kmem2 - script cleans up data files created by kmem1
logscope - Analyze a streams log.
memsar - memory usage activity reporter
memstress - stresses the system's memory management components.
mgrep - context search a file for a pattern.
morevd.sh - add more vdisks to the system.
node.check - verify system integrity of Teradata system utilizing PCI
based nodes.
odyfilter - filters "od -y" into a one data-element-per-line format.
patchinstall - uncompress and install a patch package.
pciread - PCI configuration register reader utility.
pcirw - PCI configuration register reader/writer utility.
pcislot - Displays PCI Device configurations and physical slot.
pdelook.sh - Teradata PDE diagnostics script.
pdemerge - Merge PDE-related streams logs for nodes of a clique.
perf_set.sh - a script to configure TCP interfaces for performance.
pingall - ping all nodes listed in hosts.
pkg_delta - use remsh to get package info from all nodes.
pkgs - display information about recently installed packages.
pkgsync - use remsh to get package info from all nodes.
pqs_info - display information about the NCR PQS/PDS SCSI adapters
prerootm.sh - save information prior to root mirroring.
psbaum - display parent-child process tree.
putppp - enables/disables ppp and ipforwarding on AWS and Master Node
reelinfo - Display REEL tape device information.
rpctruss - truss with additional rpc call information.
rs232 - display and/or sets tty RS232 signals.
sbechk.sh - check for single bit errors.
scanlog - obtain channel adapter firmware traces from streams log.
scsitally - displays scsi device information along with tallies.
sdd - SCSI device diagnostics.
sift - a console log filter.
sockcount - Display the number of open sockets.
space.sh - Check file system space for doing system upgrades
speedrd - Report IO speed when reading a SCSI device.
speedwr - Report IO speed when writing a SCSI device.
stacktrace - Traces the different cpu stacks in a memory dump.
struct - Display PDE & UNIX structures
tam - Teradata Analysis Menu, a comprehensive collection and front-end
to tools, utilities & scripts.
testnodes.sh - Checks 2-way remsh communication between AWS and nodes
timestamp - Convert UNIX timestamp to human readable.
top - show the top resource users.
tweak - kernel memory tweaker (USE EXTREME CAUTION).
ultraram - RAM disk generator for busstop stress test.
v2instck - Check for Teradata v2 install and configure probs.
vdconf.sh - print diskarray plus vdisk kernel information.
whatcore - display information about a core file.
whatfds - displays file descriptor information about processes.
whogotit - print which CPUs are handling which IRQs.
wrttms - displays/modify vtoc timestamp.
xcpustate - display CPU states (idle, nice, system, kernel).
xvi - hex vi-style editor.
