Watch out for ANSI vs EBCIDIC,

Why are you running export from PC then transfer then load?. Can't you just export via BTEQ on MVS? Use FastLoad to load the data is another option and you can make it quicker.

Also in the export if you force the columns to char and fixed length via a cast process you will have char data in the file not internal Teradata format.
