Subj: | | On Join indexes |
|
From: | | Narayan Murthy K S |
Hi all,
I have a question on Join indexes - I could create join indexes with different names but with the same definition. The question is - why
is this allowed, why isn't a check made to see that a join index with the same definition exists. What is the importance of having such
join indexes with the same definition when only one of them gets used. The same is not true when i create a Secondary index - ie. when i
create a secondary index with the same definition but with a different name , i get an error saying an index with the definition already
exists.
Narayan Murthy.
