We are having discussions here about data loading from different source. One school of thought is that no matter where the data is, it
needs to be ftp'd to one platform, in this case MVS, and all loaded from there as opposed to using several tools to get the data in to
teradata. To be more specific, I have a case where data exists in sql server that needs to be loaded to teradata. To make the load process
shorter, rather than extract from sql server to the mainframe and then mload to teradata, use a dts package and sql the data straight
across. We are talking a max of 10000 rows in this case.
How do other customers load data from various sources?
