Subj:   Re: What information does 'collect statistics' store?

From:   James A. Judge

There is a freeware tool called Interastats,"... inTERAstats is a tool for DBAs and SEs to display and analyze statistics gathered by the COLLECT STATISTICS command. Many statistics are gathered and stored in the catalog but the user is unable to view them. The only statistics provided are the numbers of unique values in the domain of a column or index. inTERAstats explodes this to the full number of intervals, with interval modal frequencies, minimum and maximium values and non-modal row counts. These are valuable in determining the domain uniformity, sparseness, and to get a quick glimpse of its value type. inTERAstats will print all statistics displayed. ...." check it out at,
