Subj:   Archive Strategy questions

We are coming to the decision that we have too much data to archive on our 16-node Teradata 5250 system. We use ARC release 6.06.01 and have eight fiber ESCON channels to a mainframe-controlled four-drive automated tape library. The volume of data on our system is just over 2 terabytes.

If you care to share, I am looking for high-level archive strategies from sites having between one and ten terabytes currentperm. Do you use ARC and mainframe or ASF2 and a dedicated silo? Do you archive at all? If you don't archive, do you have other disaster recovery plans (offsite 'mirror' system you own, NCR disaster recovery package, infile retention, etc)?

Thanks in advance!
