Tony:

You have received a couple of valid comments so far. To expand a bit: I think the issue is one of the following:

1. if you are doing a normal MLOAD task - you must use all the columns of the primary index(PI). If this is what you are doing, a CAST of the column changes its hashing characteristic.

2. if you are doing a MLOAD DELETE task, you cannot specify the columns of the PI.
