Subj:   Calling BTEQ From Windows

From:   Paul Johnson

I have installed "BTEQ 06.00.00.01 for Win32" on my PC. I can open a DOS window and run an SQL script by typing "bteq < run.sql > log.txt" at the prompt. This runs "run.sql" and writes the output to "log.txt". This can be contained in a .BAT file that is invoked at the prompt to save typing the command. So far so good.

We need to be able to run the .BAT file from the Windows environment as a scheduled task i.e. not within a pre-opened DOS window. When I try running the .BAT file from Windows BTEQ is invoked but it fails to process the input file (run.sql) that is specified in the command string.

Any ideas?

Paul Johnson.
