Hi,

Have you tried the new command SHOWFSP in Ferret in V2r4.1? It identifies the FSP of all the tables on the system.

If you configure the options to your desired values, it will give you a list of tables which can be packed individually and get the space back on your system without having to run a full packdisk.

In our initial testing we discovered that 20% of the tables represented 80 -90% of the reclaimable cylinders and therefore packing just those tables packdisk ran in 20% the time since we only packed 20% of the system.

Now Your milage may vary. if your BIG table represents 50% of your system, then maybe individually packing tables won't help reduce the packdisk time.
