Subj: | | Oracle to Teradata - Best way to copy data?? |
|
From: | | Tony Howe |
I am looking for the best way to get Oracle data into a Teradata database. From what I'm told the Oracle data is in a layout where all
the columns are defined as variable. We were originally looking at some kind of UNLOAD to a MVS DSN then using FASTLOAD via MVS to load
Teradata, but the Oracle layout has me confused. Then I was thinking since both reside on UNIX platforms is there a way to copy the data
via UNIX Named Pipes or some other feature, RCP was mentions?? Someone must be doing this out there somewhere. If I can avoid the
mainframe, all the better!
Thanks, Tony.
